📢 Voice announcement: “Please check radar sensor.”
If your VR 35 reports a radar sensor error, it means the sensor that enables smart navigation and mapping may be obstructed or malfunctioning. This article explains how to clean and check the radar sensor area safely.
1. Power Off the Robot
-
Switch off the main power using the toggle switch on the side.
-
Place the robot on a soft, clean surface to inspect the upper area.
2. Locate the Radar Sensor
-
The radar sensor is positioned at the top of the robot, often inside a rotating dome or visible module.
-
This sensor scans the surroundings to map the space and guide the robot.
3. Clean the Radar Sensor Surface
-
Use a dry microfibre cloth to gently wipe the top surface of the radar sensor.
-
Do not apply pressure, and avoid touching any rotating parts.
-
If there is built-up dust, gently blow it away or use a soft brush.
⚠️ Do not use water, spray, or glass cleaner — the radar unit is sensitive to moisture.
4. Check for Obstruction or Blockage
-
Ensure nothing is covering the radar sensor, such as:
-
Protective film
-
Stickers or tape
-
Dust from the ceilings or curtains
-
-
If the radar sensor is covered or blocked, the robot may not navigate properly.
5. Restart the Robot
-
Turn the power back on and test whether the error has cleared.
-
Start a short mapping or cleaning cycle to check functionality.
If the radar sensor error continues, please contact the Floorbotics support team for further assistance.
