📢 Voice announcement: “Please clap front bumper.”
If your VR 35 reports a front bumper error, it means the robot’s collision detection system is either stuck or temporarily unresponsive. This guide outlines how to reset and inspect the bumper safely.
1. Understand What the Message Means
The front bumper is designed to detect obstacles during cleaning.
If it becomes jammed, stuck, or misaligned, the robot may prompt you to "clap" or tap it to reset the mechanism.
2. Power Off the Robot
-
Turn off the robot using the main power switch.
-
Place the robot on a soft surface, such as a mat or towel.
3. Tap the Front Bumper Gently
-
Locate the front bumper panel.
-
Use your fingers to press and release both ends of the bumper several times.
-
You should feel a slight “click” and spring-back motion with each press.
-
This helps dislodge any particles or realign internal springs.
4. Check for Obstructions
-
Look for dirt, hair or dust trapped between the bumper and the body.
-
Clean the gap using a dry cloth or the tip of a soft brush.
-
Avoid using liquids or pressing too hard on the bumper housing.
5. Restart and Test
-
Turn the robot back on.
-
Start a short cleaning session to check whether the bumper is functioning normally.
If the front bumper error persists, please contact the Floorbotics support team for further assistance.
