Daily cleaning keeps your Quad 800 running smoothly, but once a week, it needs a bit more attention. Dust builds up on sensors, hair gets caught in the brushes, and suction parts can slowly clog. Doing a weekly check helps prevent performance issues and extends the life of your machine.
Wipe the Sensors
Your Quad 800 uses sensors to move, detect walls and avoid obstacles. If those sensors get dusty, it can affect how well the machine navigates. Once a week, gently wipe all sensors using a soft cloth or paper towel. Avoid touching them with your fingers. Clean sensors mean safer, smarter cleaning.
Clean the Roller Brushes
Hair, thread and dust tend to wrap around the roller brushes. When that happens, the brushes can’t scrub properly. Once a week:
-
Remove the front and rear brushes
-
Pull off any tangled hair or debris
-
Wipe them clean before putting them back
This helps the machine clean more effectively and protects the motor from stress.
Check the Squeegee Blade
The rubber squeegee at the back helps the Quad 800 pick up dirty water. But if it’s cracked, worn, or bent out of shape, it can leave puddles behind. Take a close look at the blade. If it doesn’t touch the floor evenly or looks damaged, it’s time to replace it.
Rinse the Wire Filter
Inside the recovery tank is a small wire filter that catches dirt before it enters the suction system. Take it out and rinse it under clean water. If it looks damaged or clogged, replace it. A clean filter keeps water flowing smoothly and protects the motor.
Flush the Suction Hose
Over time, lint and sludge can build up inside the hose that connects the squeegee to the recovery tank. Once a week, check the hose:
-
Look for cracks or blockages
-
Detach the hose and rinse it with water
-
Make sure nothing is stuck inside
This keeps the suction strong and consistent.
Doing these checks once a week helps your Quad 800 stay in top shape and avoids surprises during cleaning. It only takes a few minutes, but it makes a big difference.
