Quad 800 Roller Brushes Not Spinning – How to Troubleshoot It

If the roller brushes on your Quad 800 aren’t spinning, the machine won’t be able to scrub or sweep the floor effectively. This is often a result of settings, full water tanks, or mechanical blockage. Here's how to diagnose and fix it.

Common Reasons

1. Roller brush pressure is set to ‘lifted’
If the brush pressure is set too high or left in a lifted (off-contact) state, the brushes may not rotate.

2. Water tanks are full or empty
The Quad 800 will stop the brush motors if the recovery tank is full or there is no clean water available.

3. Brushes are tangled with hair or debris
An overcurrent warning may appear in the app if the brushes are jammed with material such as string, hair or plastic.

How to Fix It

1. Adjust roller brush settings in the app

  • Open the Cleaning Mode Settings from the home page of the app.

  • Make sure the brush pressure is set to low, medium or high, depending on your floor type.

  • Set the brush speed to medium for standard cleaning.

2. Check water levels

  • If the app warns that the recovery tank is full, drive the scrubber to the water room and empty the tank.

  • If there’s no clean water left, refill the clean water tank before resuming cleaning.

3. Inspect the roller brushes

  • If there's an overcurrent warning on the app, stop the machine.

  • Remove the roller brushes and check for any entangled debris.

  • Clear the blockage and reinstall the brushes correctly.

Helpful Tip

Perform regular maintenance to avoid the buildup of debris in and around the roller brush area. Keeping the brushes clean not only prevents errors but also extends the life of your consumables.
