If your Quad 800 used to deliver great cleaning results but now leaves behind dust or streaks, you're not alone. Over time, brushes wear down, tanks fill up, and the floor conditions may change. This guide will help you identify what’s affecting performance and how to get it back to normal.
Common Causes
1. The roller brushes are dirty
When debris builds up on the brushes, the machine can’t scrub the floor effectively. This happens gradually, especially if the brushes haven’t been cleaned in a while.
2. The brushes are worn out
All brushes have a limited lifespan. If the bristles are worn down, they won’t apply enough pressure to remove dirt.
3. The floor is unusually dirty
In some cases, a floor might have sticky residue, heavy soil or solid waste that needs pre-cleaning before using the machine.
How to Fix It
Clean the roller brushes
Remove both roller brushes and wash them thoroughly. Use a soft brush or cloth to remove hair, dirt or tangled fibres. Make sure they are completely dry before reinstalling.
Check for brush wear and replace if needed
Inspect the bristles. If they look flat, frayed or uneven, it's time to install new ones of the same type.
Pre-clean the area
If the floor is especially dirty, sweep or wipe up the larger debris before running the Quad 800. You can also run a second cleaning cycle for better results.
Ongoing Maintenance Tip
Make it a routine to check the brushes weekly. Cleaning them regularly extends their life and keeps your machine working at full strength. Replace the brushes as soon as you notice a drop in cleaning quality.
