When your Quad 800 leaves water behind during cleaning, it usually means the suction system is not working as expected. This issue can come from incorrect settings, tank conditions, or a physical blockage. Below are the most common causes and how to fix them.
Common Causes
1. The squeegee is still lifted
If the squeegee is not lowered to the floor, the machine won’t be able to collect water properly. This is one of the most frequent oversights.
2. Suction mode is turned off in the app
The suction setting might be disabled in the cleaning mode, preventing water from being picked up during operation.
3. Recovery tank is full or clean water tank is empty
When either tank is in the wrong state, the Quad 800 may pause suction and cleaning functions altogether.
4. Suction pipe is disconnected or blocked
If the pipe is loose or clogged, water will not travel from the squeegee to the recovery tank.
5. Squeegee is not contacting the floor properly
This could be due to poor adjustment, worn-out wheels, or a damaged absorbent strip.
How to Resolve It
Lower the squeegee
Open the Cleaning Mode Settings in the app. Check if the squeegee is lowered. If not, apply the correct setting so it can make contact with the floor.
Turn on the suction function
Still in the app, make sure the suction mode is enabled. The machine will not absorb water unless this setting is active.
Check the tanks
Inspect the recovery tank. If it is full, empty it before continuing. Also check if the clean water tank is empty and refill it if needed.
Inspect the suction pipe
Look at the connection between the absorbent strip and the recovery tank. Confirm that the pipe is attached correctly and free from blockages. Remove any trapped debris that might prevent proper suction.
Adjust the squeegee and check for damage
Make sure the squeegee is sitting flat on the floor. Adjust the universal wheel if necessary. If the rubber strip is worn, misshaped, or has debris stuck to it, clean or replace it.
Helpful Tip
It’s a good idea to clean the squeegee, suction pipe, and water tanks regularly. Keeping these parts clear will help maintain strong suction and reduce cleaning downtime.
