How to Maintain and Inspect the Quad 800 Water and Drain System

The Quad 800 relies on a well-sealed water and drainage system to operate correctly. If there are any leaks, blockages or loose fittings, cleaning performance and suction can drop. Regular checks of the tank seals, drain hoses and connections help prevent water loss and system errors.

Check the Tank Cover Seal

The tank cover includes a rubber sealing ring that keeps pressure stable and prevents leaks. Over time, this seal can wear out or crack. To inspect it, open the tank cover and look closely at the rubber:

  • Check for cracks, flattening or deformation

  • Make sure the seal is flexible and holds firmly in place

  • Replace the ring if it shows signs of aging

A worn seal can lead to reduced suction or water leaks during operation.

Inspect the Drain Hose

The drain hose allows you to empty the recovery tank after each use. If this hose becomes cracked or loose, it can leak or draw in air, weakening the machine’s suction.

When inspecting the drain hose:

  • Look for any cracks or brittleness

  • Make sure both ends are firmly connected

  • Run water through it to ensure it flows smoothly

Replace the hose if it feels stiff or shows visible damage.

Check for Water Leaks or Air Gaps

Even small air leaks in the water circuit can cause the recovery system to lose suction. Look around the hose connections, tank edges and suction areas for any signs of:

  • Moisture or dripping

  • Loose clamps or connectors

  • Hissing sounds when the machine is running

If you notice any of these signs, adjust or replace the affected parts.

How Often to Do This

Inspect the water and drainage system at least once a month. For heavy-duty use, consider checking it every two weeks. Early detection of leaks or worn parts helps avoid cleaning interruptions and keeps the system running efficiently.
