Rinsing the water tanks daily is important, but doing a deeper clean once or twice a week helps maintain freshness. Disinfecting and deodorising removes residue, keeps the system hygienic, and supports overall machine performance in busy environments.
How to Disinfect the Water Tanks
This step does not need to be done every day. For most environments, weekly or twice-weekly is enough.
Follow these steps:
-
Empty both the solution and recovery tanks
-
Fill each tank with clean water mixed with a mild disinfectant
-
Let the solution sit in the tank for a few minutes
-
Rinse both tanks thoroughly with clean water until no cleaning product remains
Use only disinfectants that are safe for plastic tanks and follow the manufacturer’s instructions for dilution.
How to Remove Unwanted Smells
If you notice odours coming from the tanks, use a tank-safe deodoriser. Add the recommended amount to the recovery tank and rinse it well afterwards. This helps keep the inside of the machine smelling clean and fresh.
How Often to Do This
-
Once per week for regular usage
-
Twice per week for frequent or heavy-duty use
-
Any time the tank needs refreshing
Regular deodorising and disinfection help the machine stay clean inside and provide a better experience for operators during use.
